DO YOU KNOW RUAHA NATIONAL PARK NAMED BEST WINTER TRIP OF 2013 BY THE NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC MAGAZINE?

National Geographic magazine, the official journal of the National Geographic Society included Ruhaha National Park in Tanzania among the Best Winters Trips 2013.

Located southwest of Tanzania’s most popular northern safari circuit which includes the Serengeti and Ngorongoro Crater, 10,300 sqkm Ruaha National Park was highlighted for its quieter, wilder environment for exceptional game viewing and bird-watching.
In addition to be known as a birder’s paradise, Ruaha – Tanzania’s largest national park - boats what is believed to be the largest of any East Africa park.
According to the popular magazine January to April (the hot, short rainfall season) is considered the best time to view the park’s more than 570 species.
National Geographic Best Winters Trips section of 2013 includes 10 destinations of which Ruaha is the only one picked in the African continent.
According to Dr. Aloyce Nzuki, Managing Director of the Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB), this shows how Tanzania is increasingly being recognized for its upcoming safari offering in the Southern and Western region of the country.
