Launching
as the sun rises, you gently float over the plains of the magnificent Serengeti
Getting fuel for the burners out to
the Serengeti is no mean feat. There is usually enough gas to pilot the balloon
for an hour and a half. There are four burners and each can be switched on and
off independently which gives the pilot some directional control.
The Serengeti is deceptively flat
looking from high up in the hot-air balloon, but as you get closer to the
ground you see that it's very bumpy indeed. Much of this is thanks to termites,
aardvarks and other ground dwelling, burrow-digging wildlife.
After an hour of flying, it's time to spot the
landing and get into a crouching position, ready for a few bumps
The patterns of the grass, the thousands of pathways
made by migrating animals, and the perfect tree tops form a truly awe-inspiring
canvas...
The trucks you see on the ground are
ready to pack the balloon up for another flight, another day.
The
traditional champagne toast upon landing is very welcome
A
delicious breakfast is served in a gorgeous spot, more champagne, excellent
coffee
After
the champagne toast it is time to freshen up and get ready for a full English
breakfast
Once breakfast was over you
handed your official certificates and the balloon trip had officially come to an
end.
They say a balloon ride over the Serengeti is a
"once on a lifetime experience"
Why Don't You Try?!!
