At 5895 metres (19,341 feet) tall, Mount Kilimanjaro is the tallest
free-standing mountain in the world
Mount Meru is the 5th highest mountain on the
African continent an 2nd highest in Tanzania and ajoins the Arusha
National Park in the west.
Ol Doinyo Lengai, "Mountain of God" in the
Maasai language, is an active volcano located in the Gregory Rift, south
of Lake Natron within the Arusha Region in Tanzania
The Empakaai Crater is a collapsed volcanic caldera which is 300 meters
high and has a width of 6 km. The Crater is filled with a deep alkaline
lake which occupies about 75% of the Crater's floor and is about 85
meters deep.
Serengeti Plain-During February the wildebeest spend their time on the short grass
plains of the south eastern part of the ecosystem, grazing and giving
birth to approximately 500,000 calves within a 2 to 3-week period: a
remarkably synchronized event.
