2.0TANZANIA TOURIST BOARD (TTB)
The Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) is
a Government Organization established under the
Tanzania Tourist Board Act. CAP 364.
RE 2002 of the Laws of the United Republic of
Tanzania. The main function of the
board include the promotion of Destination
Tanzania, encouraging tourism
development and fostering an understanding within
Tanzania and outside Tanzania of the
importance and economic benefits of the tourist
industry.
2.1 MANAGING DIRECTOR - 1 POST
2.1.1 DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
·Responsible for the overall
management of the Board,
·Responsible for all policy and
operational matters,
·Provide the vision, strategic
direction and guidance in every area of the board’s operations,
·Be responsible for clarification and
implementation of policies and procedures laid
down by the Board of Directors for
the achievement of the Board`s objectives,
·Responsible for the proper and
timely implementation of the decisions and resolutions made by the Board from
time to time,
·Responsible
for all operations/performance activities of the Board and ensure proper
allocation and utilization of resources in order to increase efficiency,
·Responsible for preparation of
performance plans, periodic reports and submit them to the Board of Directors
and other relevant authorities,
·Provide a link between the
government and the donor community through the ministry responsible for
tourism, the treasury and other state organs and
·Perform such other relevant duties
as may be directed by the Board of Directors from time to time.
2.1.2 QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCES
·Master’s degree either in Tourism
Management, Business Administration, Public
Administration, Marketing
Management, Economics or Law,
·A PhD holder in Tourism Marketing
will be an added advantage for those who do not possess a Master’s Degree in
Tourism Management and
·The applicant must have at least ten
(10) years of proven working experience of which five (5) years should be in a
proven managerial capability and must have handled the position preferably in a
tourism related organization.
2.1.3 REMUNERATION
·Attractive remuneration package in
accordance with the Institution’s salary scale:TTB 10
