DR. MERU AND AMBASSADOR MARMO PAY VISIT TO TANZANIA STAND AT ITB, GERMANY

One of exhibitors from Tanzania exchange views with Dr Meru, the Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism when he paid a visit to the Tanzania stand at ITB.
The five days world’s greatest travel and tourism trade event -ITB kicks off today here in Berlin. Being the world’s leading travel show the 49th edition of ITB has attracted more than 10,000 exhibitors from around 190 countries around the world.

In this event Tanzania is being represented by 160 exhibitors from 60 public and private sectors. Government institutions attending this year ITB are Tourism division of the Ministry of Natural Resources and Tourism, Tanzania Tourist Board who are organizers of the country participation in the show. Other institutions are Zanzibar Commission of Tourism, Tanzania National Parks, Ngorongoro Conversation Area Authority, Julius Nyerere International Airport and the East African Community.

According to Mr Geofrey Meena, the TTB’s Marketing Manager, the number of participants from Tanzania in ITB has been increasing yearly. He sighted an example of this year where a number of participating companies is 60 compared to 53 of last year.

In this year ITB Berlin Tanzania being a chairman of the East African Community is expected to host the East Africa event to be held at Tanzania stand on February 6th 2015 at which the Minister for Natural Resources and Tourism Ho. Lazaro Nyalandu will lead his counterparts from East Africa Community member states, ambassadors representing East African countries in Germany and other dignitaries to event at Tanzania stand
