If you offer beer to tourists, they will come

TANZANIA (eTN) - Other than wildlife attractions, foreign tourists visiting Tanzania are looking at local beer brands as an added value to their visit in Africa.
During their stays in wildlife lodges and later after leaving the lodges, foreign tourists do enjoy glasses of locally-produced beer before flying back to their respective countries.
Beer brands in Tanzania have been a tourist magnet, pulling a number of foreign visitors to this African safari destination.
Without a coordinated marketing strategy of Tanzanian beer brands by tour operators and other tourist marketing institutions, tourists have been searching the beer brands through Internet and social media outlets before flying to Tanzania for a wildlife safari and a taste of local beers.
Kilimanjaro Premium Lager, Safari Lager, Ndovu (Elephant) and Castle Lager have been identified to be the most tourist-attractive drinks in Tanzania, adding a value in tourism development in this African country.
Recent Kilimanjaro Marathon, a popular athletic event taking place at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro, and which took place early this month, had attracted thousands of runners and tourists across the world who enjoyed local beers as part of their visit to Tanzania.
Kilimanjaro Premium Lager has been a chief sponsor of the annual Kilimanjaro Marathon which attracted 6,000 runners from 40 countries to take part in Tanzania early this month.
Organizers of the event, the Wild Frontiers of South Africa, said the event had existed during the past 10 years, targeting to promote tourism through racing at the foothills of Mount Kilimanjaro and sipping local beers produced by Tanzania Breweries Limited.
Wild Frontiers was established in South Africa by John and Debbie Addison way back in 1991 and later designed and planned the Kilimanjaro Marathon jointly with Tanzania Breweries Limited over the past 10 years.
Local beers in Tanzania, mostly those brewed by Tanzania Breweries Limited, have been the most loved drinks by foreign tourists.
