Tanzania: Tarime Parades New Tourism Attractions

Goldland Hotel and Tours Limited (GHT) has discovered new tourist attractions that need to be marketed in a bid to boost the tourism industry in Tarime District and Mara Region as a whole.
The attractions included huge rocks that were used by human beings for a number of activities many decades ago. "For example there are amazing huge rocks in Kegonga village and they have never been marketed as tourist attractions.
It is time to tap them ", Mr Simon Mseti, the Director of GHT told the Daily News in Mwanza early this week. Kegonga village where the rocks are found is located close to the northern fringes of the Serengeti National Park(Senapa). Tarime is one of the districts of Mara region bordering, Senapa, one of the world's top tourist destinations

"We are planning to start taking our visitors to see the beautiful rocks and other attractions found in the villages of Tarime. We are proud of Serengeti but there are other attractions ", Mr Mseti pointed out. Goldland Hotel and Tours remains the leading offering hospitality and travel services in Tarime district.

Mara regional leaders are encouraging more investors to invest in tourism sector in the area. Apart from the great Serengeti ecosystem , Mara Region is blessed with a wide range of other tourist attractions like Lake Victoria beaches, beautiful hills, Mara River water falls, and Butiama Museum.
The museum is found at Mwitongo village in Butiama district where the Father of the Nation and the first President of Tanzania the late Mwalimu Julius Nyerere was born and brought up.
Cultural tourism is another potential area that also needs to be marketed to local and foreign tourists , according to Mr Mseti.
