Tanzania: Tourism Show Set for May 2016

Arusha — An annual Karibu Travel Market Tanzania (TMT) will be held in May, 2016, the organisers have said.
The event is a brainchild of the Tanzania Association of Tour Operators (Tato).
Touted as the premier travel and tourism exhibition event in East Africa, the TMT will be held at Magereza grounds near Arusha Airport from May 27 to May 29, 2016.
"The booking charts for Karibu TMT 2016 are now open," the Tato Vice-Chairman, Mr Zuher Fazal said during the association's gala dinner at the weekend.
The first day, Mr Fazal says, was set aside for trading only. The event will be open to the public from May 28th.
Tato leadership is currently engagd in key marketing platforms such as ITB Berlin and the World Travel Market (WTM) London to promote the Karibu TMT.
"We expect more international delegates next year," Mr Fazal told the audience including the Arusha Regional Commissioner, Mr Felix Ntibenda, Tanzania National Parks Director General, Mr Allan Kijazi, and tour operators who gathered at Mount Meru Hotel.
He urged Tato members and other tourism stakeholders to encourage their partners from within East Africa and overseas to take part in the show.
Karibu TMT is an annual business-to-business exhibition for travel industry professionals, according to the Tato Chief Executive Officer, Mr Sirili Akko.
The event also hosts suppliers of travel and tourism products to showcase the latest developments in the travel industry.
"It brings together the largest global industry gathering of destinations, tour operators, hotels, airlines, technology and online travel services under one roof and covers a diverse range of sectors within the travel and tourism industry" Mr Akko explains.
