Tanzania: Airline Pledges Fare Discounts During Travel Fair

Arusha — Karibu Travel Market Tanzania (Karibu TMT) has received a boost this year after Ethiopian Airlines signed a deal with the organisers to carry participants at discounted packages.
The 16-year-old Karibu TMT touted as the second largest travel show in Africa after Indaba in south Africa, and the East African premier travel and tourism exhibition, would be held in Arusha from May 27 to 29 this year.
Ethiopian Airlines traffic and sales manager for Kilimanjaro Ms Fitsimt Dejene said her carrier would offer concession airfares but did not disclose how much it would be.
"It is a rewarding experience for Ethiopian Airlines to contribute towards the upcoming Karibu TMT fair by providing concession air fares to attract more visitors from source markets," Ms Dejene explained.
Tanzania Association of Tour operators (Tato) chief executive officer Mr Sirili Akko said the partnership would be a major boost to the Karibu TMT.
"We are very much delighted and definitely our partnership with Ethiopian Airline will be a major boost in our nearly two-decade efforts to promote tourism industry," said Mr Akko
