Following the recent outbreak of
Ebola in West Africa, Tanzania Tourist
Board (TTB) would like to issue this
formal statement to reassure all Tourists and Visitors visiting Tanzania that close
monitoring procedures are being undertaken in ensuring Tanzania remains to be
Ebola Free.
The Ebola outbreak in West Africa
(Liberia, Sierra Leone, Nigeria,
Guinea and Senegal) has raised many
concerns to tourists and visitors planning to visit Africa. TTB is pleased to
inform prospective tourists and visitors to Tanzania that there are, as of yet,
no confirmed cases of Ebola in Tanzania and that
The World Health Organization has
given Tanzania a clean bill of health to date.
Tourists and visitors are of great
importance to Tanzania. TTB wishes to assure all tourists and visitors planning
to come to Tanzania, that the Government of the United Republic of Tanzania in
association with the private sector is taking all necessary measures to see that
tourist and visitors, when visiting Tanzania remain safe.
TTB would also like to inform you
that the Ministry of Health and Social Welfare through the Tanzania Airport
Authorities have initiated entry screening measures as a way to monitor
visitors entering the country.
Tanzania Tourist Board and the
Tourism Confederation of Tanzania
are closely monitoring the current
health situation and hope that Tanzania continues to remain as an Ebola free
country.
