Nomad
Tanzania, Kuro camp is launching in June 2014, in time for the best season to
enjoy the incredible wildlife of Tarangire National Park.
Africa specialist tour operator, Africa
Rose Travel, is proud to introduce an exciting new eco camp to complete a
stunning Northern Tanzania bush safari circuit. Owned by renowned Tanzanian
camp operators, Nomad Tanzania, Kuro camp is launching in June
2014, in time for the best season to enjoy the incredible wildlife of Tarangire
National Park.
Akin to the other Northern Tanzania Nomad properties, the camp is in touch with
nature and has been created to leave the lightest footprint. At the culmination
of each season the camp moves, leaving only the trees and birds and animals, as
if it was never there.
Its eco roots does not mean however that the camp compromises on comfort. It
includes six light and stylish safari tents complete with comfortable beds,
en-suite bucket shower and flushing eco-toilets. Guests gather to share meals
and relax under the cool grass thatch of the open-sided lounge and dining area
which is furnished with hides and canvas, brought to life with a touch of colourful
and tactile textiles - stylish yet subtle.
What makes Kuro even more special is its location in the park giving guests close access to the Silale Swamp area which attracts lots of elephant. The camp itself is set amid a grove of Acacia and Kigelia trees on the Tarangire River, a corridor for wildlife moving through the park which can mean, you might get to see one of the huge herds of buffalo moving between the hills to the west and the riverbed. The birdlife in Tarangire is impressive too, with 550 species having been recorded, and the largest number of breeding species of anywhere in the world.
Tarangire is a fabulous launch pad for a safari into Northern Tanzania. It's relatively easy to get to yet it has the authentic rawness of a true safari destination. Less well known than its big brother, the Serengeti, Tarangire boasts the next greatest concentration of wildlife after that magnificent area. The herds of elephant and buffalo are surprisingly big here, often numbering in the hundreds. There is also a great variety of plains game including giraffe, eland, impala and zebra to name but a few. Of course, this also makes for perfect cat territory where guests can quietly observe large prides of healthy looking lion and perhaps even see a few leopard, which have been spotted in the area.
The new Kuro camp can be combined with two other mobile eco bush camps offered by Africa Rose Travel in the Northern Tanzania area, Lemala located on the far quieter side of the Ngorongoro Crater and Nomad Serengeti located overlooking the great plains of the mighty Serengeti eco-system. All three properties make an incredible diverse three point bush safari experience appealing to people keen to experience the real Tanzania. To top off this experience for the duration of a stay in Tanzania, guests will be accompanied by their own private guide. Famed for their expert guides, Nomad will provide one of their specialist wildlife experts to ensure travellers get the most out of every minute of their adventure.
