What has over the years become East Africa’s showcase event tourism
trade show, the Karibu Travel and Tourism Fair is now taking in
bookings for the 2014 event, which will be held from June 6-8.
Venue is once again the Arusha Magereza showground, where exhibitors
from across the region and as far as the Seychelles and Southern Africa
will be meeting buyers from across the world who have learned to
appreciate the wide variety of offers and opportunities to contract
services and rates for the next year.
As has become customary over the years, the first day, June 6, will
be dedicated to trade visitors only, requiring registration in advance,
though the two remaining days are open for visitors from Arusha and
beyond.
Karibu was initially launched by TATO, the country’s primary private
sector association for tour and safari operators, to promote exclusively
the Tanzanian safari and beach circuits but swiftly outgrew the initial
brief and expanded into the region’s premier event, incorporating the 5
East African Community member states and then widening the scope even
further when exhibitors from many other African countries began to
frequent the trade show. Supported by the Tanzania Tourist Board and the
Ministry for Natural Resources and Tourism, the annual event has grown
in leaps and bounds and as space for exhibitors is at high demand, it
will be first come first serve to be allocated the preferred stand size
and location.
