Dar
es Salaam — Tanzania Association of Tour Operators (Tato) and German
Embassy in the country have teamed up to unlock the potential of the
Southern tourism circuit.
The Southern
Circuit covers the most remarkable and least visited sights in Ruaha,
Mikumi, Udzungwa Mountains National Parks and the Selous Game Reserve.
There are fewer
tourists visit the area because it is less well known than the northern
circuit which include the famous Serengeti, Mount Kilimanjaro, Arusha,
Manyara, Tarangire national parks and Ngorongoro conservation area
(NCAA).
Official records show that northern circuit hosts nearly 80 percent of 1,000,000 tourists who visit Tanzania annually.
"We had a very
fruitful talks with German Envoy, Mr Egon Kochanke in his office and
basically we agreed to partner in promoting southern tourism circuit in
Europe," Tato Chairman, Mr Wilbard Chambulo said.
