6TH MEETING OF THE SECTORAL COUNCIL ON TOURISM AND WILDLIFE MANAGEMENT ONGOING IN ARUSHA

ARUSHA, Tanzania, 8 October 2014 / PRN Africa / — The 6th meeting of the EAC Sectoral Council on Tourism and Wildlife Management is currently underway at the EAC headquarters in Arusha, Tanzania.
The 6 – 10 October meeting is being conducted through sessions of Senior Officials; the Co-ordination Committee (Permanent/Principal Secretaries); and the Ministerial session.
The five-day meeting is expected to critically consider a report on the implementation of previous decisions of the Council and Sectoral Council on Tourism and Wildlife Management as well as review the challenges faced by the tourism sector particularly tour operators and the treatment of EAC Partner States' citizens in public tourist sites.
The Sectoral Council is also expected to consider a progress report on the training of Assessors for the EAC standards criteria for classification of accommodation and restaurants in the Republic of Uganda and Republic of Burundi as well as progress of the ongoing activities in Tourism and Wildlife Management.
The Ministerial session of the 6th Meeting of the Sectoral Council on Tourism and Wildlife Management is scheduled for Friday 10 October 2014
