The just ended Swahili International Tourism Expo (SITE) held last week in Dar es Salaam is already bearing positive fruits with several participants pledging business with the country’s tourism sector.
 
Speaking to press mid this week in Dar es Salaam, Tanzania Tourist Board (TTB) Tourism Services Manager Philip Chitaunga said the number of tourist arrivals from Ireland, China, Australia, India, Spain, USA, UK, German and South Africa to Tanzania is expected to increase significantly.
 
He attributed the project increase directly to SITE noting that stakeholders and travel media representatives from the mentioned countries have vowed to support marketing and promoting of Tanzania as a key tourist destination.
 
Several representatives from the group had pre tour in Zanzibar and a post tour at Serengeti National Park and the Ngorongoro crater where they were allowed to take marketing video clips and photographs.
 
The Swahili International Tourism Expo is an annual tourism exhibition held to promote Tanzanian tourism potential in the international market source market.
 
The attendants included tour operators, wholesalers, packagers,  travel agents and travel writers.
